January 1, 2004 -- Laser Reproductions Inc. of Skokie, IL, a leading supplier of sublimation products, supplies and equipment, as well as custom coating services, announces the expansion of its Midwest coating plant, and the authorization of five new distributors for their line of coated sublimatable products.

“The pulse of the industry indicates the need for continuous improvement and higher production quantities,” says Cary Green, president of Laser. “We are improving and expanding to ensure that our products are the best available for our customers.”

As part of this new quality initiative, Laser recently brought in George Howe as production manager. Howe has over 30 years in the coating industry working for companies such as GM and GE. His expertise encompasses all aspects of automated coating technology and production.

In addition, Laser is adding a new coating line for three-dimensional products such as mugs, steins and custom objects, as well as two-sided coating capability. Laser is currently the only plant in the U.S. that is coating blank mugs, steins and other three-dimensional objects for sublimation.

Laser’s new distributors include: Engraver’s Choice in Mission Viejo, CA; Nova Chrome in Pleasant Hill, CA; SEPS Graphics Inc. in Birmingham, AL; Sublimatable Products Plus in Spring Valley, CA; and TR Distributors in Portland, ME. The company’s main manufacturing plant in the Chicago area will continue to service customers in the Midwest.

Laser Reproductions has an extensive line of coated products, and most items will be available from each distributor. The line includes standard items such as ceramic, marble and porcelain tiles; mugs and steins; metal and glass products; and candy tins, as well as unique items such as shot glasses, espresso cups; dog bowls; thermometers, and more.
